Why Us?

Experience

CSE WORKS™ has been in the garment industry since 1975. With a strong background in the apparel industry, pattern making and both retail and manufacturing garment construction, CSE Works has been in manufacturing since 1991 and in the apparel business for over 35 years with a concentration on performance work apparel.

CSE Works started making outdoor, technical apparel,  which led to having a local retail shop where consumers could come in and make specific fabric and design solutions for ski, climbing and general outdoor wear that were custom tailored to their precise measurements. It wasn’t long after that a Fireman came in and asked if CSE Works could make something specific for their rescue team. That was the start of a new direction in fulfilling a niche market. Welcome to CSE WORKS.

Sustainability

Starts with design

We believe that sustainability may by no means conflict with innovation, design, functionality and quality.

The average life of a product is 2.2 years. At CSE WORKS™ we only use industrial strength technologically advanced fabrics in every garment we manufacture. Our garments are made to provide years of services — generally a minimum of 3 years.

At CSE WORKS™ we partner with mills that have sustainability at the forefront of their operations. For example we use intelligent textile technologies, such as water and dirt repelling functions in most of our jackets which will improve the durability and wear. High-quality textiles have a longer service life and can remain in use for longer — helping to preserve the environment and saving resources. In manufacturing our products, we always focus on ecological compatibility.

Since 2001, Schoeller® Textile AG (our fabric supplier out of Switzerland) has been producing in accordance with the stipulations of the bluesign® system. The bluesign® system is the solution for the sustainable production of textiles. It excludes environmentally harmful substances from the manufacturing process from the very beginning, lays down guidelines and monitors their observance for environmentally friendly and reliable production. As a result, this ensures that the final textile product meets the most stringent consumer standards worldwide. On the other hand, consumers can rest assured that they are buying a sustainably manufactured product.

Schoeller® not only produces in accordance with the guidelines of the bluesign® system but, together with other companies, contributed to its founding. Schoeller® was the first textile company in the world to receive certification and, in 2008, was the first system partner to receive the bluesign® Award.

Buying new gear?

Take time to consider all your needs

There is a lot to consider when buying a uniform: durability, style, the materials, and cost. If you’re purchasing uniforms for your department, it can be overwhelming as there is a lot to consider and much research to do. Add to that the fact that uniforms aren’t a small purchase.

Here are some things to consider as you start your journey for buying new gear be it jackets, pants, shorts or shirts!

Make a list of your must-haves and nice-to-haves

Before you buy, you should have a very clear idea of what you want and what you’re willing to compromise on. What is most important to you — professional appearance, a good fit, or innovation? Will the uniform be used for tactical/special teams, or for everyday use? What design features are critical? Type of pockets, zippers, epaulettes, mic clips, venting, CSA compliant, etc. Do you care about years of service or the durability of what you end up purchasing? What about the type of fabric? And lastly, and maybe most importantly do you care if your product is manufactured off-shore or in Canada?

These details are important at the onset and will ensure your research will be complete and meaningful. Don’t forget to establish a budget too - how many people are you buying for? Look at the landscape of uniform options, then break down the brands, features, warranty conditions, and reputations and history of each of these companies. Then you’ll have a good idea of where you may want to put your money.

Consider the technology under the surface

Technical apparel is in constant evolution and some of those advancements may not be obvious at a passing glance. Fabric advances are ongoing and you want to ensure you are getting world class fabrics that are technically engineered to withstand your demanding day on the job in comfort. It’s a proven fact that the quality of your fabric will absolutely effect both the wearability and the functionality of garments.

If managing your budget is critical — you should take a hard look at your fabrics to ensure you will get years of service. We know that value for the dollar matters and that shouldn’t sacrifice quality!

Determine if the garment is a good fit!

One of the most underrated—and most important—aspects of any gear that you are wearing is the fit. A good fit can often mean more to the end user’s experience than some of the advanced features stated. A good fit improves mobility, flexibility, range of motion, and user comfort. At CSE WORKS we use YOUR measurements to get you the best fit possible! We sacrifice everything to ensure you end up with something that you enjoy wearing.

Our sizes are not standard across the board. We accommodate for all heights and the different body types and shapes between male and female officers.

Our in-house designed garments are constantly evaluated and tweaked to ensure the best fit for EVERYONE!

Partnership

Does the company you are going to do business have a history or mandate of customer first? Will you be able to get samples of garments for your department to try out? What about custom tweaks to your garments?

At CSE WORKS™ we partner with our customers ensuring that each client has precisely the solution they need to suit their individual needs. There may be similarities in day to day activities but what’s important to you and your team may be different.

c_change®

A c_change® liner ensures the optimum comfort. The membrane adapts to the conditions as it is highly breathable, and carries away moisture and excessive heat. Being windproof and waterproof, c_change® protects the wearer in all kinds of weather conditions.

At higher temperatures or during sports activities, the polymer structure of the c_change® membrane opens in response to the correspondingly intense moisture development. Excess heat and moisture can escape to the outside air. In the cold, or at times of low activity, the membrane remains closed. Shivering or chilling are effectively prevented.

ceraspace™

Ceraspace™ is a particularly high-performance protective fabric technology from Schoeller, offering a new dimension in abrasion protection. It is utilized most when maximum protective properties are called for, such as in workwear, footwear or protective wear for motorcycling.

The special ceramic particles are nearly as hard as diamonds and are firmly attached as a 3-dimensional coating to the textile. A textile with Ceraspace™ performs significantly better than high quality leather in terms of abrasion.

Stay comfortable. Stay covered.

We continue to develop high-performing products that help you stay comfortable whatever the weather throws at you.

Soft-shell

Polartec® Power Stretch® Pro™ has reinforced elastic fibers creating 4-way stretch that meets the demanding push and pull of activity. This agile, dual-surface fabric absorbs moisture from the skin while continuously wicking it to the outer layer for fast evaporation. Power Stretch® Pro’s™ outer surface has a low-friction finish, so this versatile fabric can layer perfectly with others and resist abrasion on its own.

Windblock™ Fleece

WindBlock™ fleece comes with a DWR finish. This coating is a durable water repellent finish that is added to our fabric at the factory to make it water-resistant. Being windproof and water repellent allows it to retain warmth. It is a durable, easy care fleece fabric that has a comfortable stretch for the wearer.

PrimaLoft®

PrimaLoft Gold insulation (and all of its many variants) is one the best type of synthetic insulation out there. It was specifically designed for people who lead active lifestyles and demanding outside jobs, even when the weather outside is horrendous. Therefore, its primary focus is retaining and providing warmth when you get wet.
